Betfred extends sponsorship deal with Super League Europe

Bookmaker Betfred has signed a two-year extension to its partnership with Super League Europe, organiser of club rugby league competition the Super League.

The agreement extends a relationship that began in 2017 to 2023 and secures Betfred as the longest title sponsor in the competition’s history.

The event, which features nine English clubs and the Catalans Dragons from France, will continue to be known as the Betfred Super League.

Betfred and Super League will also continue to work together on a responsible gambling campaign and promote this during matches.

“It’s great to be extending our successful partnership with Betfred,” Super League chief commercial officer Rhodri Jones said. “During this difficult period, they’ve been outstanding headline partners, and we can’t thank Fred and his team enough for their continued support.”

Betfred chairman Fred Done – who stepped down as CEO earlier this year – added: “The passion and enthusiasm shown by the fans, media and everybody involved in the game of rugby league is I believe, the essential reason this has proved such an enjoyable and rewarding sponsorship for Betfred and is why I had absolutely no hesitation in extending the Super League deal for at least a further two years.”
